It's In The Books - Series 6

That a wrap on the 6th Series of the 2018 National Retriever Derby Championship with an official time of 1:45 pm!

We are waiting on callbacks and will post them as soon as get them.

35. HUNTERS CHOICE XX, "Archie," LM, Bill Goldstein

Archie and handler Bill came to the line at 1:36 pm for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Nice line out to the fall area and his mark was recovered quickly.

Long Left - Excellent place to get into the first pond. Archie circled in the middle of the pond then went back to the land bridge. He crossed the bridge and into the second piece of water. He swam towards the guns, then turning left he got his bird.



34. STILL WATERS PULLIN' THE PEACEMAKER, "Colt," LM, Clint Weitzel

Colt and Clint came to the line at 1:26 pm for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Nice Line - Colt came in a little wide left but turned right then left and got his bird.

Long Left - He angled across the field and swimming the first pond in line with the guns. He went out and over the land bridge and into the second pond on the same line towards the guns. He got to the tip of the land below the gunners then crossed over to the get his bird.

33. OLDSQUAW'S LITTLE RASCAL, "Rascal," LF, Frank Purdy

Rascal and Frank came to the line at 1:18 pm for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Excellent Mark!

Long Left - Good line through the field and the first pond. Rascal got over the land bridge and swam straight to her bird.



32. HOSTESS CITY'S SEASIDE TORNADO WARNING, "Windy," LF, Jason Baker

Windy and Jason came to the line for the running of their 6th test at 1:12 pm.

Right Bird - Windy went right to her bird and Front Footed It!

Long Left - She angled across the field and continued that angle swimming the first pond being parallel to the shore. She went out and over the land bridge, running some of it before she got back into the second piece of water where she went straight to her bird.

30. TEUFELHUND HALLS OF MONTEZUMA, "Zuma," LF, Buck Shope

Zuma and Buck came to the line at 1:03 am for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Excellent Mark!

Left Long - Nice line across the field and a good line in the first pond. Zuma went over the land bridge and into the second piece of water, straight to her bird.



27. BREEZY CHIRPING CRICKET, "Cricket," LF, Hunter Street

Cricket and Hunter came to the line for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Cricket went straight to her bird!

Long Left - She went across the field and on a nice line in the first pond that carried over the land bridge, through the second pond and straight to her bird.



Condition Update - 6th Series

Our temperature is now at 56 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Our wind is WSW at 16 MPH.

A bit chilly but we are still getting these dogs through their 6th test.

25. RAINWATERS ISAAC, "Ike," LM, Shawn Ward

Ike and Shawn came to the line for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Ike crossed the pond in good fashion, hooked the guns and got his bird.

Long Left - He had a good angle across the field and through the first pond. He went over the land bridge still continuing a good line to the bird. He then changed his angle and docked in front of the guns, hooked them and started to hunt behind them. He got back into the water and got his bird.




24. GET SUM MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE, "Max," LM, Jason Baker

Max and Jason came to the line to run their 6th test.

Right Bird - Max went straight to the fall area and missed the bird. He had a small hunt and got it.

Long Left - He angled across the field and through the first pond. He went over the land bridge and into the second pond to the fall are in the lilies and got his bird.

22. BAYOU-STAR FLEURTY GIRL, "Fleurt," LF, Suzan Caire

Fleurt and Suzan came to the line to run there 6th test.

Right Bird - Excellent line all the way to this bird.

Long Left - Fleurt went into the water, crossed over the land bridge in the middle of the pond. She went through the second pond, and got up the hill behind the gunners. She quickly came back into the pond and swam to her bird.



21. TECHE'S BAYOU KAT, "Kate," LF, Wayne Stupka

Kate and Wayne came to the line to run their 6th test.

Right Bird - Excellent job on the retrieve of this bird.

Long Left - Good line into the second pond. He got out on the land bridge and ran left then back in the water straight to his bird.

20. SWIFT RIVERS JEFFERSON MONTICELLO, "Jefferson," LM, Buck Shope

Jefferson and Buck got to the line to run their 6th test.

Right Bird - Nice Job - Jefferson went straight to the fall area then to his bird.

Long Left - Good line through the pond and over the land bridge. He swam to the point below the gunners and pushed off to get his bird.

19. TOP LINE RANGER LEADS THE WAY, "Ranger," LM, Marc Patton

Ranger and Marc came to the line at 11:55 am.

Right Bird - Excellent line to the bird.

Long Left - He angled across the field and through the first pond. He got over the land bridge and into the second pond. He went over the tip of the point in front of the guns then up on the land behind them for a brief hunt. He worked his way back to get his bird.



PICK UP - 18. BLACK LABS MATTER II, "Brody," LM, John Schneider

Brody and John came to the line at for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Brody went down the hill and over the right side of the island...then straight to get his bird.

Long Left - He had a nice angle down the hill clipping the left end of the trees. He took a hard right angle across the pond, got over the land bridge and into the second pond. He came out of the water wide right of the gunners to hunt the area. He ended up with very extended hunt. The guns were sent out to help pick up.

17. SLR'S BIG GREEN SMASH, "Hulk," LM, Glen Curtis

Hulk and Glen Curtis came to the line at for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Hulk's line from the mat to the fall area was nice. He took one loop and got his bird.

Long Left - He angled down the hill tight to the left of the trees. He swam to the land bridge in the middle of the pond. Swimming the second pond to the far side, lunging water past the gunners, he went up the hill by them and back down to the bird.

16. SEASIDE'S MOJO MOXY, "Boots," LF, Jason Baker

Boots and Jason came to the line at 11:27 am to run their 6th test.

Right Bird - Boots went straight to this bird and Drilled It!

Long Left - Nice line across the field and into the water. She went over the land bridge and off to the point with the gunners. She bounced off the point, turned left and went out to get her bird.


RERUN - 5. RAZOR'S BUCKSHOT, "Shooter," LM, Christian Alt

Shooter and Christian came to the line for their re-run on the 6th test at 10:17 am.

Right Bird - Shooter crossed the pond and got up on the bank in front of the guns. He made a quick turn and went to his bird.

Long Left - He angled into the first pond on a line towards the gunners. A few passes on the land bridge, he got back into the first pond. He got straighten out and in the second pond, then went straight to his bird.

15. COLONIAL'S WE WILL ROCK YOU, "Rocky," LM, Buck Shope

Rocky and Buck came to the line at 11:10 am for their 6th test.

Right Bird - Rocky skimmed the right side of the island as he swam towards the bird. He came in in front of the guns and got his bird.

Long Left - He had a nice angle across the field and first pond. He got over the land bridge and headed for the shore with gunners. He pushed off the bank and went straight to his bird.

14. BEAVER CREEK'S MAGIC WHITE LIGHTNING, "Madge," LF, Sol Semmler

Madge and Sol came to the line for their 6th series.

Right Bird - Madge went down the hill off the mat, left of the island. He drove up the back hill straight to her bird.

Long Left - She had a nice angle down the field and across the pond. She went over the land bridge and continued on a great line to the bird. Great Job.
