In The Books - Series One

Series One of the National Retriever Derby Club National Championship is in the books at 10:25 AM. WOW!

We will be making a quick move to test two and will be posting the callbacks as soon as we get them.

18. BLACK LABS MATTER II, "Brody," LM, John Schneider

Brody and handler John Schneider came to the line at 10:23 am.

Flyer - Brody got deep of the guns, he made several passes deep before returning to his bird.

Bird 2 - Great line to the fall area, he made a quick turn left and got his bird.

Brody was the last dog to run this Test One.

17. SLR'S BIG GREEN SMASH, "Hulk," LM, Glen Curtis

Hulk and handler Glen Curtis came to the line.

Flyer - Hulk went up to the area of the guns, then he turned in to the cover and got his bird.

Bird 2 - He went straight to the fall area, made a left turn to his bird.

16. SEASIDE'S MOJO MOXY, "Boots," LF, Jason Baker

Boots and handler Jason Baker came to the line at 10:16 am.

Flyer - Boots went up to the area parallel to the bird, she turned through the cover and got her bird.

Bird 2 - She went up the field left of the guns, one turn and got her bird.

15. COLONIAL'S WE WILL ROCK YOU, "Rocky," LM, Buck Shope

Rocky and handler Buck Shope came to the line at 10:14 am.

Flyer - Rocky went straight to his bird!

Bird 2 - He had a direct line to the fall area. He made two loops right then back left to get his bird.

14. BEAVER CREEK'S MAGIC WHITE LIGHTNING, "Madge," LF, Sol Semmler

Madge and handler Sol Semmler came to the line.

Flyer - Madge made a quick turn in the cover and came out with her bird.

Bird 2 - She came in just left of the bird. She turned right and put her nose on the bird.

13. IDAHO'S DUCK'S, BUCK'S & TRUCK'S, "Trucker," LM, Misty Melo

Trucker and handler Misty Melo came to the line at 10:08 am.

Flyer - Trucker ran deep of the bird. He hunted deep then he worked quickly back to his bird.

Bird 2 - He went out to the guns, made a loop just deep left of the gunners. He turned towards the bird and got it.

11. SWEETIE'S LITTLE DASH-A-RUE QAA, "Dash," LF, Alex Drent

Dash and handler Alex Drent came to the line.

Flyer - Dash went out to the fall area. She got a little deep but made a quick turn that put her on the bird.

Bird 2 - She had one loop in the area of the fall and quickly got her bird.

10. TAKING ALL YOUR ATTENTION, "Taya," LF, Clint Weitzel

Taya and handler Clint Weitzel came to the line at 10:02 am.

Flyer - Taya went up right of the gunners. She made a turn in the middle then broke through the cover and out, right to her bird.

Bird 2 - She got wide left going out then hunted very wide left. She worked her way back to the fall area then to her bird.

9. TEUFELHUND ARM BAR TAKEDOWN, "Rousey," LF, Buck Shope

Rousey and handler Buck Shope came to the line at 10:00 am.

Flyer - Rousey went straight to the fall area then to her bird.

Bird 2 - Perfect Mark on her bird.

8. TEN BEARS SALT N PEPPER, "Pepper," LF, Jason Baker

Pepper and handler Jason Baker came to the line.

Flyer - Pepper went up the hill to the left of the fall. When he got even with the bird she turned left, cut through the cover and her bird.

Bird 2 - She ran to the guns, turned left and straight to her bird.

7. KANGA'S KRYPTONITE COCKTAIL, "Kanga," LF, Hunter Street

Kanga and handler Hunter Street came to the line in the first series.

Flyer - Kanga went just right of the bird, she made a few quick turns and got her bird.

Bird 2 - She went out to the fall area, made a quick turn right then back left to the area of the bird and got it.

Quick Conditions Update

We have noticed the wind has picked up to 18 MPH. We will see if this increase is going to change the work of these dogs.

6. TUCQUAN'S BEAUTY BEHIND THE MADNESS, "Bella," LF, Seth Steenburgen

Bella and handler Seth Steenburgen came to the line at 9:52 am.

Flyer - Bella went straight to the bird and caught a live one.

Bird 2 - She had great line up the hill and made a quick turn at the bird and scooped it up.

5. RAZOR'S BUCKSHOT, "Shooter," LM, Christian Alt

Shooter and handler Christian Alt came to the line.

Flyer - Shooter's line went straight to the bird.

Bird 2 - He had another great line up the field and to his bird.

4. BAYOU TECHE PAINT THE BLACK, "Madduxx," LM, Glen Curtis

Madduxx and handler Glen Curtis came to the line at 9:46 am.

Flyer - Madduxx had an excellent mark on his flyer.

Bird 2 - He went up to the fall area and turned away from the bird for a loop behind the guns. He quickly came back to the area of the fall and to his bird.

3. CANDLEWOODS MEET MR OTIS, "Otis," LM, Rod Sage

Otis and handler Rod Sage came to the line at 9:42 am

Flyer - Otis went up the hill to the right of the guns. He hunted deep then back down to his bird.

Bird 2 - He went up the hill to the right of the guns, he turned left to the fall area and got his bird after a few turns.

2nd Gun Change - Series One - Conditions

Our second gun change for the first series happened at 9:36 am.

The temperature is 73 degrees with the wind now coming out of the south at 16 MPH.

The dog work has been what you would expect at a Derby. There have been dogs stepping on both bird, dogs with hunts deep or wide and one pick up. Over all the work is good and shows the National caliber of the dogs.

44. MICKEY'S VICTORY RUN, "Harley," LM, Christian Alt

Harley and handler Christian Alt came to the line.

Flyer - Harley went up the hill close to the guns, he turned right and straight to get his bird.

Bird 2 - He had a direct line up the hill to his bird.

2. PEPPERJACK'S DEAL ME AN ACE, "Dealer," LM, Misty Melo

Dealer and handler Misty Melo came to the line at 9:39 am.

Flyer - Dealer went up the hill through the cover and out to the fall area. He had a tight turn and got his bird.

Bird 2 - He went up the hill to the fall area and made a few loops and found his bird.
