In The Books - Series 10

The 2018 National Derby Championship 10th series is in the books at 12:54 pm. This completes the competition for 2018 … and now we wait for the judges finals decisions and the crowning the 2018 National Derby Champion.

Handled - 34. STILL WATERS PULLIN' THE PEACEMAKER, "Colt," LM, Clint Weitzel

STILL WATERS PULLIN' THE PEACEMAKER, "Colt," with handler Clint Weitzel came to the line for their final test.

Flyer - Colt had to hunt for this bird. His hunt pattern started short and to the left, but he worked his way to the bird.

Right - He got into the pond and over the end of the point. He went up the terraced hill and hooked the guns to bring him in for his bird.

Long Middle - He took off and missed the pond and popped and had to be handled.

33. OLDSQUAW'S LITTLE RASCAL, "Rascal," LF, Frank Purdy

OLDSQUAW'S LITTLE RASCAL, "Rascal," with handler Frank Purdy came to the line at 12:33 pm for their final test.

Flyer - Rascal took a few moves on the way out to a long flyer and got her bird.

Long Middle - She went up through the pond to the far right end. Going over the levee and out to the right, she then went up the terraced hill, but missed the bird, she hunted the hillside and got her bird.

Right - He went down the hill, paralleling the shore close to the bank. She went over the point and angled across the pond to the fall area and the bird.

32. HOSTESS CITY'S SEASIDE TORNADO WARNING, "Windy," LF, Jason Baker

HOSTESS CITY'S SEASIDE TORNADO WARNING, "Windy," LF, Jason Baker came to the line at 12:22 pm for the final test.

Flyer - Windy went out to this long bird and had one loop deep then over to retrieve it.

Right - She went down the hill to the pond and angled right across it to the point. She went up then continued on going up the hill and directly to get her bird. - Nice!

Long Middle - She went through the first pond and the corner of the second, also slicing the corner of the third pond. Out of the water, she drove up the hill towards the gunners. A sharp turn in front of them that brought her to the area of the fall and her bird.
